The term "Old Ironsides" came about because of the hardness of the Oak hull, which rejected the cannon balls shot from British ships during the War of 1812. It was commissioned in 1794, and was launched in 1797. In the war of 1812, it defeated 3 British ships in action. This ship comes fully assembled.
