The San Felipe Model Ship is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model. Master craftsmen use historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method, similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.
On the ship you will spot amazing details such as wooden bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, and mizzen mast. They are all connected to numerous fabric sails with detailed stitching. All rigging is painstakingly fastened by hand in matching colors. There’s a small wooden cabin with a wooden boat on the main deck. On the quarter deck, there’s a second wooden cabin. There are wooden railings surrounding the beakhead area. You can easily spot 3 long rows of metal cannons on both side of the hull, and other crafted metal parts on the front and back of the ship. This ship is all wood and metal, no plastics parts.
The included floor standing display case is made out of hardwood and painted a classy dark mahogany color. It has distinctive designs that add elegance and beauty when displayed in your home or office. It comes 100% fully assembled, complete with plexiglass panels on all sides. It features curved sides which enable it to accommodate models with wide yards. This case is very effective in preventing dust buildup, as well as keeping your valuable tall ship looking new and protected at all times.
This model also includes a solid wood base and brass nameplate. For a more personalized gift or display, consider adding on a fully customized nameplate plaque with your choice of text and/or logo.
