The San Felipe Model Ship is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model. Master craftsmen use historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method, similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.
On the ship you will spot amazing details such as wooden bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, and mizzen mast. They are all connected to numerous fabric sails with detailed stitching. All rigging is painstakingly fastened by hand in matching colors. There’s a small wooden cabin with a wooden boat on the main deck. On the quarter deck, there’s a second wooden cabin. There are wooden railings surrounding the beakdeck area. You can easily spot 3 long rows of metal cannons on both side of the hull, and other crafted metal parts on the front and back of the ship. This ship is all wood and metal, no plastics parts.
This model comes standard with a solid wood base and brass nameplate. For a more personalized gift or display, consider adding on a fully customized nameplate plaque with your choice of text and/or logo.
