The Royal Louis, with 120 cannons and 1,200 crewmen, was the largest and most powerful tall ship of the French Navy in the late 1700's. Able to shoot 48-pound bronze cannonballs, the Royal Louis had unrivaled firepower. It was a huge vessel, dwarfing Dutch and English ships of similar power and intimidating all who crossed its path. Because of its superior size, it carried large amounts of supplies for the crew, enabling it to serve as a comfortable, well-stocked ship.

This model is adorned with stunning ornaments and detail. Around her hull, you can see brass cannons, brass rails and fittings, a big brass figurehead in front of the bow, and beautiful artworks around the stern. On the deck, there are stairs connecting different floors; a big wooden dinghy that comes with its own paddles, sky light panel, ship wheel, ship bell and more. Exquisitely detailed, it took hundreds of hours to build the hull and the rigging.

Now this amazing ship is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model. Master craftsmen use historical photographs, drawings or original plans to meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade woods such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method, similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.

This model comes standard with a solid wood base and brass nameplate.
