Taking after the original, master craftsmen handcrafted this highly detailed wood model from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plans. It is built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany, and built individually using plank-on-frame construction method that is similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This model requires partial assembly. The boat is assembled, but sails, rigging, and masts are laid down, resulting in a smaller shipping box, which results in less expensive shipping.
The Omega Yacht's hull is painted beautifully in red and green with white waterline, while the mast, boom and boom vang are painted in silver. Realistically detailed, the sails are meticulously stitched and extends all the way to the masthead. The model also exhibits a double deck made out of wood from the inside cabin to the gunwale, while metal stanchions hold up the guardrails in place around the deck. Among other striking details are hatches, winches, a metal steering wheel, a cabin and a companion way.
