Between 1966 and 1977, Bristol Boat Company built a number of traditionally styled boats that generally follow the same design concept, perhaps best exemplified by the classic Bristol 32 and Bristol 40 models. Today, the Bristol 35.5 has stood the test of time and is still available as a new boat, nearly 20 years after it was introduced.
This stunning replica of the Bristol is built with quality wood by master craftsmen using “plank on frame” construction, just like real ships. Strip by strip, small planks of western red cedar, rosewood and mahogany were put together and a smooth surface was created. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.
The Bristol Yacht’s hull comes in a beautiful tone of color with black and light blue with white stripes, with the mast and boom painted in a gorgeous shade of silver. Realistically detailed, it has a large cabin with a wooden door, black windows and wooden hatches. Look closely and you'll see a pulpit and guard rails around the yacht held up by metal stanchions. To complete the definition of a true sailing boat, a metal ladder hangs on the transom, while meticulously stitched sails and intricate rigging catch attention.
The model is secured tightly on a light blue solid wooden base with a brass nameplate. It’ll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector. Light assembly is required. The masts and sails are folded down for easier and more economical shipping.
